Business Transformation Consulting

A costed, sequenced plan — before you spend the budget.

Assess current processes, systems, and bottlenecks, then build a transformation roadmap that ties technology investment to efficiency and scalability.

You are probably here because

These are the signs this work is overdue

If several of these are true for your business, this service is usually where the fastest return sits.

You know things need to change but not what to change first.
Every vendor recommends the product they happen to sell.
Three departments each want a different system, and all of them are urgent.
A previous digital project spent budget and delivered little.
You are being asked for a technology budget without a technology plan.
Nobody can say what your current systems actually cost to run each year.
What's included

What this engagement actually contains

Not every element applies to every business. We scope to what your operations need, and say so when something is not worth doing.

01

Operational and systems assessment

A structured review of how the business runs today: processes, systems, integrations, data, people, and the informal workarounds that hold it all together.

Process inventorySystems and integration mapData-flow reviewShadow-IT discovery
02

Bottleneck and cost analysis

We quantify the leaks — hours spent re-keying, delays waiting on approvals, rework from bad data, licence and maintenance spend on systems nobody defends.

03

Opportunity prioritisation

Every candidate initiative scored on business impact, effort, risk, and dependency — so the sequence is defensible rather than driven by whoever shouted loudest.

04

Target architecture

A clear picture of the end state: which systems remain, which are replaced, what the integration layer looks like, and where data lives.

05

Phased roadmap with costs

A sequenced plan where each phase is independently valuable. You can stop after any phase and still be better off than when you started.

06

Business case and governance

The numbers you need to approve spend, plus the governance to keep the programme honest once it starts — measures, checkpoints, and who decides what.

What you receive

Tangible deliverables, not a slide deck

Every engagement ends with artefacts your team can use, extend, and operate without us. Documentation and handover are part of the scope, not an optional extra.

  • Written assessment of current systems, processes, and operating gaps
  • Quantified bottleneck and run-cost baseline
  • Prioritised opportunity register with impact and effort scoring
  • Target-state architecture diagram with build/buy recommendations
  • Phased roadmap with indicative costs, sequence, and outcome per phase
  • Business case and a readout session with your leadership team
How the work runs

A phased engagement, not a big bang

Each phase is independently valuable. You can pause after any of them and still be better off than when you started.

  1. 01

    Scope and access

We agree what is in scope, who we need to speak to, and what systems we get read access to. Usually a single kick-off call.

    Days
  2. 02

    Interviews and system review

Structured conversations across operations, finance, sales, and IT, alongside a hands-on look at the systems themselves.

    1–2 weeks
  3. 03

    Analysis and modelling

We quantify the leaks, model the target state, and stress-test the sequence against your constraints — budget, people, and seasonality.

    1 week
  4. 04

    Readout and roadmap

A working session with leadership: findings, options, recommended sequence, and cost. You leave with a plan you can act on or shelve.

FAQ

Transformation consulting — questions we get asked

Are you going to recommend that we buy your development services?

The assessment is deliberately sold and delivered as a standalone piece of work. Some roadmaps recommend off-the-shelf products, some recommend doing nothing for six months. If we recommend build work, you are free to take the roadmap to any implementer.

How disruptive is the assessment to our team?

Typically a few hours in total from each key person, spread over a fortnight, plus read access to the systems. Operations keep running throughout.

We already know what we want built. Do we need this?

Often not. If the scope is clear and the value is obvious, we would rather start delivery. The assessment earns its keep when the problem is broad, the options conflict, or a previous attempt failed.

What if the roadmap says our current systems are fine?

Then it says that, and you have saved a great deal of money. A recommendation to keep and better use what you already own is a legitimate outcome.
